All’s Well That Ends Well
Nifty and Sensex roared back from their opening weakness to close at the day’s high on Friday. PS - we still ended in the red on a weekly basis but atleast it wasn’t so bad. Midcaps (+0.3%) and Smallcaps (flat) traded mixed but continued to outperform on the weekly and monthly timeframes. The advance-decline ratio was split evenly. This week we had India’s largest IPO, Hyundai Motors India Limited, the Indian arm of South Korean automaker Hyundai which closed on October 17, 2024.
Total Subscription: 2.37 times the shares on offer (23.63 crore equity shares bid against 9.97 crore shares on offer)
QIB (Qualified Institutional Buyer) Subscription: 6.97 times the shares on offer
Non-Institutional Investor (NII) Subscription: 0.60 times the shares on offer
Retail Individual Investor (RII) Subscription: 0.50 times the shares on offer
Employee Subscription: 1.74 times the shares on offer
The IPO received robust institutional demand, with QIBs leading the subscription. Retail investors and non-institutional investors showed moderate interest, while employees subscribed to the issue at a higher rate.
